Public Conversations About Science

From clean water to cell phone reception to flu vaccines, science and technology are deeply connected to everyday life. Even those who think they don't know much about science often have a lot to say about its connection to social issues. With a "Museums for America" grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Pacific Science Center has launched a project to engage Washington state residents in discussions about the science in their lives.

A series of community discussions on aspects of the pressing issue of carbon neutrality will be held in partnership with the Seattle City Council in early 2011. Additional forums will be held in partnership with cultural organizations such as Seattle Art Museum and Seattle CityClub.
