Chaperone Policy: While we require a minimum ratio of one adult to ten students, the ideal ratio is one adult to five students to ensure a positive learning experience for all visitors.

The Planetarium offers an immersive environment, intimate size, and interactive programming aligned with Washington State GLE's and supporting most K-12 astronomy curricula. Laser Light Shows

Laser Light Show for School Groups (Available September - June) Morning shows offered. Advance reservations required. Stir the imaginations of your students with laser light performed live to music such as A Hard Day's Night by The Beatles, Roam by B52's, and The Imperial March from Star Wars, just to name a few. (30 minutes; grades K-12)

School Group Visit Assistance Program

All Scholarship monies for the 2011-2012 school year have been allocated.  If you would like to be put on a waiting list please fill out and submit the form below. We will notify you should funds become available.

Thanks to generous support from the GenCorp Foundation/Aerojet, Pacific Science Center is pleased to announce a School Group Visit Assistance Program for the 2011-2012 school year.

  • Who qualifies for this program?
    Washington state K-12 schools with a minimum of 40% of students on a federal free and reduced-price meal program.
  • How Do I apply?
    Schools must first schedule a field trip with Pacific Science Center's Registration Department by calling (206) 443-2925. After your field trip plans have been made, fill out and fax the Assistance Application to (206) 443-6600. Applications sent without a previously made reservation will not be considered. Eligible schools must apply two weeks prior to the date of the reserved field trip.
  • When will I know if my school has received an award?
    Award letters will be sent to the requesting teacher by US mail within 1-2 weeks of application.
  • How many awards are given?
    Assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • What will the admission fee be if my school receives an award?
    Admission fees to be paid by school range between $1.50 - $2.50 per person.
  • Requirement of Assistance
    Schools will need to complete an evaluation form regarding the field trip.
